Perleche is another name for angular cheilitis (or chelitis) This condition is becoming more common and cases are on the rise, but what exactly is perleche and why are we experiencing a rise in incidents at almost epidemic proportions.
If you have the specific symptoms of splits at the corners of your lips, you may be an angular cheilitis sufferer. The lesions are red, sore and inflamed, with the skin cracking and splitting horizontally at the corners of the mouth.
This is a fungal infection that is becoming more prevalent. Although it is recognized that it is not contagious it is not certain for sure that is the case. People susceptible to angular chelitis are typically the elderly who have mis-aligned teeth or over weight people in particular because these two groups develop small pockets or folds at the corners of their mouth which becomes a warm, moist (from saliva) environment and is the ideal environment for the bacteria.
Having this condition can be frustrating because the condition is difficult to treat and most people who get it once are commonly proned to suffering repeat attacks on a consistent basis. Some of the more obvious ways an attack can flair is when the body’s immune system is temporarily breached. For example sleeping through a night where the body is a few degrees colder than it should be may be a cause of immune system inefficiency. When this happens, the dormant bacteria, which were all the while being held at bay by the immune system, suddenly get a chance to get a foot hold.

Angular Cheilis staff/mrs.(ms.)sage…i have struggled with this condition for right at two years and have just about reached the end of my rope. The toughest part about this condition is that for so long i thought i had a disease. Thus causing me to be severly depressed.i have had tons of blood work done and everything checked out normal. Every doctor I went to couldn’t give me a concrete answer to what it is that i have.i was told that it is acne keloiodis, foredyce spots, perioral dermatis, angular cheilits, and now percleche..i have suffered from lesions/pus filled bumps directly associated with the corners of my mouth.the picture u have of the percleche image is the exact look alike to what i have.(the first time i have seen a exact match, and i have been searching for images a long time.) I purchased the cure and i was totally satisfied that first night, however because of my impatience i completed the treatment steps the second night and didn’t get the results like i wanted so i went overboard.after completing the regular process,i went to bed with dish washing liquid slathered all across my mouth and chin. The next morning i woke up looking like a 80 year old man by the mouth.when i proceeded to pull the dead, skin lesions surfaced like they never have before.i went to the dermo. and told him about the natural home remedy. After over a year finally gave me that concrete answer i was lookin for.He told me it was percleche and the home remedy shedded light on what it is. He gave me a oral medicine and some naftin cream. I really have some resentment about taking the medicine seeing that he gave me oral medicine without noticing any sign of yeast in my mouth…I know you stated that you’re not a doctor, but being a sufferer I’d rather consider your opinion,I have grown to have very little faith in doctors. Do you think i should continue the angular cure process or follow the doctors advice? I strongly believe in the natural home remedy. if you would like i will send pictures. thanx for your time and thanks for the people who lives your company has help.
