Where Does Angular Cheilitis Come From?

By Katherine | Dec 9, 2008

Cheilitis causes are often thought to be numerous, but really there are only two major factors involved. Also, there are misconceptions about Cheilitis causes, and these should be dispelled. First, contrary to many people’s belief, this has nothing to do with cold or flu symptoms. Many people relate Cheilitis causes with the common cold or the flu because outbreaks have a tendency to happen during a cold snap in the fall, or during the winter time. The actual causes are completely unrelated, so this is just not the case.

Now let’s shed some light on the actual culprit here – fungal bacteria. This microbial villain thrives in folds, creases or wrinkles at the corners of your mouth where moisture collects, and it is in this moisture that it thrives. There are a few reasons why we might have these folds or wrinkles at the corners of our mouths, such as misaligned teeth or dentures which cause us to over-close our mouths around them. Perhaps we have become overweight, and this creates folds in our face. Also, we may simply have the wrinkles that come with old age.

The other of the two major Cheilitis causes is moisture. Fungal bacteria needs moisture to survive – inversely, it cannot survive in a moisture free environment… they simply dies off completely. So how do we use this to attack the fungal bacteria without damaging our skin, drying it to the point of cracking and peeling our skin? There exists a way, a home remedy, that can do just that. Actually, you most likely already have the natural ingredients in your home, in your kitchen or bathroom, and if so, the remedy would be of no cost to you. Would you care to learn more about this?
